This paper presents the results of the analysis of using qualitative methodology for UX researches in Western companies based on the data of 26 cases. On the examples of “Sobaka Pavlova” projects we will consider specifics of qualitative methodology usage in the Russian context. Practical recommendations will be given to using basic qualitative techniques for solving UX problems: interviews and observations. The report will be interesting to product managers, UX professionals and UX designers.

I have published in sociological journals and collected papers. I have taught at the Sociology Department (NRU HSE, SPb branch).
