Solving a Rubik’s cube: how to recover the architec-ture description of distributed enterprise system

Have you ever got into a situation when there is a complex enterprise system and the knowledge about its purpose and architecture design is lost? Several developers’ generations had already been turned and some changes to the system is to be deployed right now. Architecture description recovery is like solving a Rubik’s cube: if you have prepared recipe it could be done with your eyes closed. Otherwise, all you have to do is to re-glue stickers on sides. My presentation is about experience I’ve gained during recent successful complex enterprise system architecture description recovering. I will consider practices and standards which were useful or not. Presentations deals with architectural repository organization for teamwork on architecture description and arrangement of relevance-keeping process about our architecture description.
